KYJO is a Big Band with a repertoire of everything from Swing to Funk and Fusion...but we mostly prefer to concentrate on the Funk.

KYJO aims to foster the development of Jazz within the county and to motivate young musicians to develop their talents in the field of Big Band Jazz within a structured, cost effective and supportive environment.

//DIRECTOR
Graham Mann

Our Director is Graham Mann, a graduate of Colchester Institute. He has combined a career as a percussion teacher with a successful playing career ranging from classical to jazz-funk. In addition to his role as KYJO Musical Director, he plays trombone and keyboards with 'David Migden and the Dirty Words' and runs his own jazz quartet from the drum kit.

Mike Taylor

Mike Taylor is the manager of KYJO, he is the person who arranges all the gigs and gets out sponsorship. Please contact him if you would like to hire us or find out more information about us.

//REHEARSALS

We normally rehearse every other Tuesday during school term times at the Wigmore Smallholders Club. 'Next rehearsal' details are normally posted on the homepage; otherwise please email us (subject "KYJO REHEARSALS").
